Idiocracy

Has anyone out there seen the very low budget, very silly movie “Idiocracy” with Luke Wilson? Here is the trailer so you can get the idea:
Christmas in Grizzly Flats
Posted by Katrina Rasbold on Dec 16, 2008
If I am not mistaken, this is the first white Christmas we have had since I moved up here in early 2004. That year, we got here in March, which was the first time I had ever been to Grizzly Flats. Eric came up and met with the real estate agent and purchased the house, then we drove up to it in the moving van a couple of weeks later. We had been renting a house in Sacramento and the owner very suddenly got married and wanted to sell the house. As it turned out, the owners were eager to get shed of the house due to a financial crunch, so they were willing to rent it to us through escrow.
Winter and Summer

For several months now, the country as a whole has contemplated the idea of and desire for change. There is very little that is more powerful than the phenomenon of mass consciousness. The Hundredth Monkey Theory has been re-proven and disproven to the point that it is now difficult to tell if it is true or not. That is the typical casualty of stating something as fact.
The Power of The Apron

I can remember watching “Leave It to Beaver,” “Father Knows Best” and even “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” during their first run airings. I had a ridiculous crush on Robert Young. I was much more excited than an 8-year-old should be when “Marcus Welby, M.D.” debuted. Of course, those in the know will already be well aware that Marcus Welby immediately paled in comparison to Dr. Steve Kiley, played by the tremendously cute James Brolin. For you young’uns, yes, that’s Josh’s daddy.
But I digress.
(Yes, I had quite a daddy complex going on even back then)
Making Winter Work For You

This is definitely the time of the year for changes to be happening. As humans, we still tend to internalize and act on the patterns and paths that were woven into time by our ancestors. As agricultural people, humans farmed according to the sun and moon cycles and yesterday/today (depending on what calendar you use) was Autumnal Equinox, also called “Mabon.” That was the time that the second harvest would begin in most geographical areas, particularly in European countries. The first harvest began August 1st and continues on until the fields are barren in late October/early November and is the result of the efforts of our own hands: the garden and fields. The first of the corn and grains and legumes would be ready for harvest around that time and would continue for weeks to come as the plants produced in their own cycles of growth until the annual yield was reached.
Changes

I want to change so many things about my life that I hardly know where to start. I usually get a better launching on such things in a clean environment, so I have been cleaning my house like mad and redesigning every website I operate (there are a lot of them). That’s why everything you’re seeing here looks different.
Gossip

Here’s a story I once heard that just came back to me full of meaning yet again:
A woman went to her minister and confided meekly that she had been gossiping a good bit and she felt really bad about it and wanted God to forgive her for having said the things she’d said. The minister was understanding and told her to remember that we are all human and there are plenty of times that things fall right out of our very own mouths that we’d love to just grab in the air and shove back in again. He assured her that God is loving and tolerant and forgiving and understands all of our human frailties and the challenges we face in life. God would forgive her. She felt much better, but was puzzled by what he told her to do next.
